Terrible!
I've had this for atleast a year. Brand new it wouldn't hold a charge for more than a couple of pictures. Often we have to put it in and take it out over and over to even make it work even though it was freshly charged. We keep it strictly for emergencies.

Great battery!
Works like Canon-provided. Could not believe the price under !! recharges fine and lasts as long as the Canon one.

Cannot beat this deal!
I was very skeptical about this battery because of the price, but I figured it was so inexpensive I might as well try it since I wouldn't be losing that much cash. Wow, was I surprised. This battery performs on par with the canon battery that came with the camera. I bought 2. Why waste your money on a name brand with product like these around?

Works
Purchased 3, and they all seem to work. At this price you can afford to buy several to have on hand when you need them.

A real bargain
This is a real bargain, even when paying the attendant shipping. Shipping was fast and, well, I got the battery! What more can one ask for? Hmmm... maybe slightly reduced shipping? The total cost to me was about 1/2 of the sale price at an office superstore.

A perfect match for the Sony PCM-50 audio recorder
I'm using the 4-Gig version of the MS-EX4G as the expansion memory for the Sony PCM-50 stereo audio recorder.

The little Memory Stick has performed flawlessly, recording CD-quality 16 bit/44KHz stereo audio. I haven't pushed it to 24 bit/96KHz but Sony specifies this model MS Pro for the DCM-50 so I assume it could handle the bandwidth.

At 16/44 you'll get about 6.5 to 7 hours' worth of stereo audio on this card. Pretty amazing when you think of how many 10" tape reels that used to consume.

Reads fine through standard card-readers in XP Pro and Vista Home Premium PC's.

Pricey, but it works!
I purchased the 4GB Memory Stick Pro-HG Duo as added memory for my Sony PCM-D50 Digital Recorder.

Though I am not a big fan of proprietary memory (SD cards are a better value), Sony makes a fine product, and I am glad I bought the 4 GB memory stick. The HG is fast, and I ended up needing the extra memory while recording concerts in Europe.

If you shoot RAW buy this
I need to shoot bursts of RAW on a Sony DSLR-A700 for dance photography. The A700 has both an MS and a CF slot. The MS HG Duo seems to handle a stream of 18MB RAW files being written much better than the Sandisk Extreme III CF card. Maybe because the HG Duo and the camera were designed to work together from the outset. If you own one of the newer Sony DSLRs with an MS slot, this is THE memory to buy. BTW: The A700 is wonderful for dance photography where flash is banned and the light is abysmal and changing rapidly. Paired with a 70-200 Sigma f2.8 at 3200 ASA, it can track and take beautiful low-noise photos.

Not worth it if you own a PSP
I own a PSP, and use it to transfer music and videos from my PC to the PSP memory stick. I used to use a 1GB stick, wanted to upgrade to 4GB, read that the HG was sooooo much faster at writing and transfer speed. It's not. I transfered a 175 MB video using PSP media manager to both my 4 GB and my 1GB, to test how long it would take for each stick to do it. Both finished at exactly the same amount of time: 12 minutes. No improvement in transfer speed. I'm not happy with this product at all. If you're going to spend this kind of money for a stick for your PSP, you're better off investing in a 8GB stick. Or just shell out the for a regular 4GB stick. Don't be a sucker. And whatever else you do, DON'T buy a stick off e-bay for , those are counterfeits!!! Then you're an even bigger sucker.

Sony Digital Storage Media
I use it in my Sony AS100 digital camera. Very good write spped. No problems.

Amazing camera at an amazing price!
First off, two things you should be aware of before you buy this camera. One, if you don't have a firewire port, or don't intend on getting one for your computer (fireware cards aren't difficult to install and are fairly cheap), DO NOT buy this camera. Since most cameras record on harddrives nowadays anyways, this camera is definitely a little dated. However, if you have a firewire port this is a non issue since getting the video onto your computer is a painless process. Second, if sound is very important to you, DO NOT buy this camera. Now I'm talking more production quality sound, not your average home video sound. The microphone on this camera is very poor and does a terrible job at isolating important noise from background noise.

With that said, image quality with this camera is incredible considering its price. Also, you can't beat the zoom on this camera! If you're looking for a camera to make web videos with this is definitely a camera I would consider buying. If you're at all considering making anything on the professional end I would avoid this camera at all costs as it does not measure up with today's HD cameras. Great budget camera!

Works OK unless you want to get video directly onto a firewire drive using a Mac
Everything worked OK except you cannot have the camera plugged into your Apple computer via firewire at the same time anything else is plugged into your firewire.

So when I wanted to log footage into Final Cut Pro, I'd have to unplug my media drive, change my Final Cut settings to capture back to the computer, and then capture footage, unplug the camera, replug in the hard drive, and transfer the footage to the external, delete it from my computer, and proceed as normal.

Any other brand of camera I would just plug the camera in and capture the footage to the external drive.

The only reason I bought this was to use it as a deck to get footage on the computer which it does not do well, so I returned it today and will get a Panasonic or something.

camcorder/camera
Book of directions that comes with the camera/camcorder is fairly good and describe the options for focusing and aperature and other features. I learned to use the camera within a few days. The software for downloading images to the computer is self explanatory. Having that range for the zoom is wonderful. The resolution is not as high as a regular digital camera but the pictures are nice quality anyway.

Too noisy
I just bought this and am going to return it to Amazon. I bought this to replace ZR200. This is really noisy. There is just too much noise with the soccer game and piano recital. The price is good. Now I have to shop for another one.

A high-end camera for a good price!
This is a perfect cameracorder for someone that wants a small lightweight camera. The picture option is exeptional especially for long distance pictures. No negitives. GREAT CAMERA

Good one for the price
i have had this camera for about 3 weeks now and just love the convenience of carrying one device for both video and still pictures. its also lighter and smaller than my other devices. its very easy to use. picture quality is good in daylight or well lit area. it gets grainy in the dark and does not look great especially when viewed on an HD TV. audio is ok, zoom is basic. i usually just walk closer to my subject instead of zooming as i get better audio capture. still pictures are great and the flash works fine. battery life is good and i love the fact that i can charge it with a USB cable or one of many usb chargers i have for the cell phones.
overall it is a good buy for the price.

awesome!
i love this thing. the video looks great when filmed outside with a steady hand. i don't use the zoom because digital zoom always looks like crap in my opinion. for the price the video quality is freaking amazing but the mic leaves a lot to be desired. boy what i wouldn't give to have one of these when i was in high school or travelling the world in the navy. the h.264 is a great format btw which is easy to edit in premiere elements but you must have a fast computer. i wish i could buy a 0 version of this type of camera for the extra build quality that price would offer. bottom line, this camera is great for quick shots and the video looks nice on an hdtv.

Great Video but Noisey ZOOM!
I purchased one of these when they first came out in May. I loved the video! Much better than my Canon TX1 or my Sanyo CG6! The sound was ok. There was no noise from the auto focus/zoom motor. It was a very early production model. It kept locking though so I had t return it.
I then purchased another one thru amazon and noticed right away the there was a horible noise coming from the auto focus/zoom motor everytime it had to refocus or if you zoomed. You could feel it in your hand and during playback you hear a very-very noticable ratceting/clicking type noise. It just totally ruins the important moments I captured. I sent it back to amazon.
They sent me another replacement and I could not believe it but it was even worse! I have sent it back to and still waiting for a refund.
Amazon says that the problem must be more widespread than they had originally thought!
Well I have not totally given up on Aiptek. They have just come out with a new model called the Aiptek A-HD. It does not have a mechanical zoom so it cannot make noise. The price is also less at 169.00!!

UPDATE: The new Aiptek Action camera does not have the zoom motor noises but overall is still the same camera.
I just bought a new Kodak V1253 that blows every other camera I have purchased away in all areas except the Sanyo HD1000 has slightly better video but that's it so I am now using a very inexpensive Kodak V12530 over my 800.00 Sanyo HD1000

Bad Audio; Bad video; Bad still picture
I have owned this camcorder for nearly six months. It has been a very disappointing purchase.

The audio gets very scratchy at times. I have seen this happening when recording musical programs where there is continuous loud audio. Video quality is so-so. In the name of HD, it creates huge video (.MOV) files, but the videos that I capture from my Sony MiniDV camcorder (in DV format) are much better in clarity and quality. The zoom is almost useless because of the absence of steady-shot feature. Even with a tripod, I have seen the video quality reduces with zooming, though it shouldn't happen with the optical zoom.

Still pictures: It is very easy to mess up a picture. Half of my still pictures come out to be out-of-focus or shaken.

If you are not in a hurry to go HD and if you are considering this camcorder because of the attractive price, WAIT... I can see that the Sonys and Canons are coming down on price.

A beginner's HD DV, what it is supposed to be
This is my first DV as I always hesitate if I need a DV or not. I know many people who own a DV but told me that they only use it twice a year after spending a few hundred bucks and then it is out of date. I decided to try one just for the reason that it is inexpensive, under 0 and found the video quality is so good.
Now I've used it for couple of months and I would give 4 star review for it. It is a perfect beginner's HD DV, as what it is supposed to be.
First, the video quality is so good in 720P, I put some screen capture online and one can hardly tell the difference with those still images captured with a digital camera. Even in low light conditions like indoor or at night, the noise is still very low. I'm surprised how they could do that with a CMOS sensor. I know some DC can capture videos in 640X480 or even 1024X768, but they use the sensor in fast exposure mode and use motion-jpeg compression, the video noise is very high.
It is an idiot proof consumer product, there's not much you need to set or control, just turn it on, start and stop recording, zoom in and out, review, turn on light.
It is so compact that you can put it into your purse or pocket.
It uses SD card, which is inexpensive now, buy a 4GB sdhc and you are all set(almost two hours recording time). Take the SD card out and put it into your computer, then you can play it with many software like quicktime. I never tried the software comes with the package but I recommend Kmplayer, which is free and you can download anywhere. Its decoder is the only one that plays the video clips on my 1.3G laptop smoothly.
The battery life is short, like 30-45 mins, but I found most of the clips I shot are no longer than 5 mins. and I do know this is common for most if not all HD consumer DV's. Try searching reviews for those sony and canon one. Fortunately it comes with two batteries in the package.
The biggest problem is it does not have anti-shake or image stabilization function, so you have to hold it very steady to get good shot. Unfortunately, for consumer DV, I found it is always a problem, even those who have IS function, they still have the problem. The CMOS camcorders use rolling shutter, which causes weird effect like smear. even for those expensive one. so my suggestion is: using a tripod, or don't move while shooting.
And audio, the most clear sound it can capture is the voice from the guy who is shooting. Outdoors, the wind will make a noise. But again, do some research you will find it is again a common problem for consumer DV. Fortunately this does not bother me, I only enjoy the image but not the sound most of the time. when I edit the clips, I simply replace the audio with music as background. If audio is important for you, try find one which can use external directional mic.
A minor issue is its plastic feeling and smell, which makes it felt cheap, very bad marketing in US. but don't be fooled by the outlook, it is worth every penny.
so I would highly recommend this one if you are planning buying a DV and don't want to spend a lot money. Canon HF100 is another option, which will drop below $[...] soon. or Samsung at $[...]. you can review HD clips at www.vimeo.com before making your decision.

Excellent battery life!
I can't believe how cheap the Sony batteries are compared to JVC and they last way longer. This one lasts me over 200 min every time. With battery life this good I don't bother plugging in to AC power any more. I thought about getting an anton bauer rig but I think I'll get a couple more of these instead.

Must have for all serious videographers
I'm a professional wedding videographer and batteries are something of a must-have. There's no excuse for having your camera plugged into an outlet via an extension cord - it's a tripping hazard and it just looks tacky. That's why if you're doing extended periods of filming you've got to have a really long-life battery. That's exactly what this battery delivers - about 715 minutes of battery life when you're recording. (That's just about 12 hours!) I use a Sony DCR-VX2100 professional video camera, so this battery is perfect! Get two!

Sony L Series Camcorder Battery
Great addition to the battery that I have, know can shot in the field for an extended period of time. Purchased two of this item.

Excellent battery
Just picked one of these up and I get great record time on my professional HD camcorder.

Long Lasting, must have for DCRVX2100 and others
I purchased two of these over the past couple of years to go with the two Sony DCR-VX2100's that I used as a wedding videographer. No matter what wedding or event I shot at, this battery did great - and I never once had to change batteries, even when shooting the long 8+ hour daylong events. I would also take one of these with us for our vacations, and would not need to recharge the battery for the whole 5+ day trips, of course just using the camera an hour or so each day.
Great purchase and "investment" in these long lasting batteries.

the original resolution is down.
I found that by using the 0737C lens the picture or photo's resolution reduced greatly.

Good lens but ...
The lens is ok. But because of its size, the flitser is partly blocked. Also the input for your microphone will decrease. I have a HD camcorder SR6 or something.

Great lens for Sony Handycam
We got this wide angle lens for our new Sony Handycam and it works
beautifully. Easy to put on and take off.

Complementing accessory
This lens works perfect. Finally I can get the whole group in the frame! The craftsmanship is top quality. It secures to the camera just fine. If you are investing in a high definition camera why would you pair it with anything but the best wide angle lens you can get for it? Don't risk compromising the capabilities of your HD camera.

Great Lens
I also have a Sony HDR SR12 Camcorder. Got this lens for it and it is working great.
Of course you can't drop it and expect it not to be damaged (see P. White review).
The lens has a rubber ring around it and I had no problem holding on to it.
It is a great lens and I am happy with it (I agree with AC Clarke "Sony did a fine job").

Large Carrying Case
This case is larger than expected (double the size of one at Walmart that looks just like it), but probably true to specifications (which I obviously didn't think through).

More space, however, allows me to carry more...such as my regular digital cameras, small tripod, batteries, and chargers, so it will make a good storage case or case for trips requiring all of the above.

Good quality. Made nicely. Seems sturdy. Would recommend as long as one wants a larger case for their small handycam. (I have the DCR-SR45.)

Great Protection for DCR-SR45 !!!
I'm really happy to receieve the Sony LCS-X20, so it is perfect to keep clean and safety our new DCR-SR45 Camcorder. The cost and shipment it's really cheap ! Great finish and fix perfect !

A very nice purchase, very reasonably priced by Sony
I am very satisfied with this purchase, as I always am, with anything I've ordered from Amazon.

Camera carrying case is just as I expected it to be.

Fritz Hill

Versatile, but quality just okay
Adequate size for camcorders. Nice front zip pocket and velcro divider of main area. But overall quality is a little thin... may not last as long as I would like.

Camera bag is a little bit small but efficient
I was expecting the bag to be a little bit bigger... but it works fine. anyhow, it fit my camera(s) and mini tripod, & media. You just have to make the most of your space.
If the bag is too big, you might put too much in there and it would get heavy... So it worked fine. it really depends on how many accessories you are planning to carry with your camera. If you have extras, such as filters, or extra batteries etc... it might be too small for your needs... but if you are going to be on the go and want something compact it's great!

nice, light tripod
I got this tripod to use with my Nikon D40 when I travel. Even though it's recommended for use with a point-and-shoot or video camera, it's also perfect for use with a small DSLR. It's very portable, lightweight (as long as you're not using an extremely large telephoto lens), and can be set up quickly. With the legs fully extended the height almost equals that of a heavier tripod. It also can be adjusted so that the legs flatten allowing the camera to be within inches of the ground. This is great for macro or tabletop shots.
The ball head works very well for adjusting the camera to just the right angle and locks in place securely. However, when using the camera in a vertical format you really have to make sure the grip is firmly locked or it can slip slightly.
One suggestion--go ahead and get a travel bag for the tripod when you order it. Unless you already have one, you'll want one, especially if you plan to take it when you travel.

Light, Steady, Hard to Pan
This tripod is great for small digital cameras or even fair sized SLR digitals like the Canon Rebel. I can carry it around because it is light, where the heavy pods end up staying at home.

However, it is not great for video use, and if you want a tripod to use for video you should consider a model with a head really designed for video.

Problems with using it for video:

1.lack of smooth / fluid type head -- it is hard to pan smoothly.
2.the small handle, which has the lock in it, is hard to hold once you mount a camera.
3.the handle lock requires a bit of force to release (or lock), causing the camera to shake.

Sweet tripod for SMALL P&S cameras.
This tripod is awesome for small point and shoot cameras. I made the mistake of not researching the weight limit and my Nikon D80 with the battery grip just about fell over. 3.5lbs isn't a lot of weight but when you attach it to this tripod it becomes very sketchy. Don't risk your 00 DSLR on a tripod, spend the money and get one that is sturdy enough to hold the weight. But if you are using a little guy like a CoolPix or Powershot, this tripod is great; buy it.

Sturdy Nice Tripod
Nice tripod. Though its quality is not that good, can't expect more for that price. I would recommend this anyone looking for affordable tripod.

Great Looking, Strong - Design issues for folks with a tremor
I think this tripod is great. I have a Professional Manfrotto Tripod and this is a nice casual companion. Inside I use both: Video on the Pro and Still on this tripod.

This review should be informative to anyone, but I'm going to address a lot of stuff related to my hand tremor, so other folks with a tremor will know the design limitations I've found.

---I was aware of these limits before I bought the tripod---

I'm not complaining, or saying it is inferior in any way. Just informing others of the way the design restricts usefulness for folks with a tremor like me.

----------------

Because of a hand tremor I cannot handhold a camera. I also need to use the remote, or set the shutter timer, and have my finger off the camera before shutter release. This tripod has a single head release lever that releases all 3 axes at the same time. If I try to hold the handle of the ball head, with it unlocked, for any kind of pan, my hand tremor is transferred to the camera.

Although the trigger is progressive (It isn't On/Off - it goes from really tight to looser and looser until free) it doesn't help at all. The friction added by the trigger is sticky and movement is jerky. If I could release one axis at a time and add some smooth friction in the head, I might be able to pan. With friction it still wouldn't be locked in one axis, so drifting would be a problem. I can pan some heads by pushing on one point of the handle with my fist. For me holding a tight fist keeps my hands pretty steady, and a little smooth friction in the head will usually damper the bit of tremor still present.

Even if I get some friction going, I'm going to have to lower the center of gravity to the center of the ball to really make it useful. Since the center of gravity is far above the ball the camera just wants to flop over.

Separate axis locks would be fantastic, but that is the trade off for the very flexible and fast positioning you get with a ball head vs. a standard head.

There are a couple of work arounds with this tripod that will allow a horizontal pan.

When you release the trigger, but hold the base of the collar around the bottom of the ball, there is a joint that allows a smooth, steady, horizontal pan. Why a clip or little click lock of some kind, wasn't included to do this seems really short sighted. I'm going to make something to clip over that small post under the head so I can get a nice horizontal pan when I want it. Right now, I can do it by wrapping my fingers tightly around that small center post under the ball and releasing the trigger. It will then pan horizontally. It isn't locked to level though so if you required a perfectly level pan, it might be hard to find that position and hold it.

I can also raise the center post about 5 inches and loosen the joint in the post. It takes 11 full rotations to separate the post, so using one rotation for a pan isn't risky. The threads on the joint are really very smooth. They are a little loose though. I wrapped some teflon tape (available in the plumbing section of a hardware store) around the threads and that makes the joint run even smoother and reduces the play between the threads.

The trigger friction seems as though it might allow steady movement, but because it's a sticky kind of friction it doesn't work that way. It just allows you to change the camera position with a little friction so the camera doesn't flop over while you are trying to line up a shot. You still need to fully lock the head before you take your hand off of it.

I think you could probably safely increase the load capacity (in the tightest leg spread - it is substantially weaker when you move to the wider setting), if you were willing to sacrifice the lower leg extensions. The narrower stance of shorter legs is less resistant to tipping so you'd need to consider that also. The stability and strength difference between each section of the legs decreases quite a lot from the top to the bottom sections. It seems like you could break or bend the lowest post fairly easily, but it's probably still much stronger than other lightweights.

Using the center post, like most tripods, does seem to reduce the stability a lot. The height you get from this tripod is great. I'm 6'2" and at full extension, the camera is only about 6 inches below my eyes.

I don't find it has any stability issues. In comparison to other light weight tripods it seems very steady to me. Even if I figure out a way to lock the axis, the head would have to move with very little pressure. It seems like the tripod itself, wouldn't be stable enough for a really smooth pan, if I had to use more than a little force to move it.

When I judge only by the design that was promised, and not by wished for improvements, this tripod is far superior to any other lightweight tripod I've seen.

Package never arrived
I never received this package. I don't think it is any fault of the seller. I am sure the postal service does not know what it is doing because they cannot find the package using the tracking number.

works great
Initially I was scared as the product did not come in the actual sony package. However, I have been using this and works excellent.

Back-up battery for my camcorder
Glad to have a back-up battery and very pleased with Amazon price - more than half the cost at Best Buy!

Wonderful
This replacement battery works better that the one that came with my camcorder. I was really impressed with the way in which it works.
Worth the money.

Replacement batteries
I replaced some stock batteries in a sony handicam with these batteries and they work fine. Rechargable and are exactly like the one I had to replace. They also hold a charge as well as the stock manufactured one that was orignal to the camera. I would always recommend a few extra charged batteries if you like to record longer events and the Sony NPF50 P series does the trick.

DOD-Dead on Delivery
The product never worked, so I had to try and exchange it or something. I lost on this deal

Amazing Frames !!!!
This ones comes with everything you need to show your pics, great wood finish, it's one of the best overall products out there.

Poor quality display
Once again I learned a great lesson - you get EXACTLY what you pay for.
This deal sounded like a great bargain - you get 9" frame for . But when I got this frame and turned it on, I understood why it was so inexpensive. Display quality is very poor, I could not get it to work right out of the box - usb connector was loose, display would not turn on - it would light up and nothing would show.
To make a long story short - I sent it back. I have give credit to Amazon. Fantastic customer service, got return labels in minutes, refund was issued within days.
Then I bought a frame made by Philips. What a difference in picture quality.

Good Purchase..Great Gift!!
I just bought this as a birthday present and my friend loved it.
The set-up was pretty easy. I uploaded pics and mp3 music file from my laptop to the SD drive and it immediately worked on plugging in.
Resolution is a bit on the downside but for the price..must say the colors and pics are quite decent and it looks good too.The only issue is the pics get cropped but probably by choosing the ratio setting that can be resolved..I did not try that out. Overall a great buy for gifting somebody and good value for the price.

Great product at a great price.
This digital frame is great and we usually only have it on when guests over at the house. The great thing about this frame was that there was a bonus offer from Shutterfly which was really great. I would recommend as a first digital frame for your household. It's clean and goes with the rest of our gallery in the house. Easy to setup right out of the box. I have not tried any video on it yet, but I'm sure it's just as nice as the photo slideshow.
