Nice size, nice look, but.....
Well I like the camera but it's not perfect! I do feel it is a good size and I do like the overall design. It's smaller than my Canon SX 100 IS and was cheaper also and has an impressive 5x optical zoom!

I bought another 2 batteries for it, as battery life is really short and I also bought a car charger for it for that reason, so the cost goes up all due to its short battery life.

I often travel to China and Hong Kong so I was looking for something smart, light weight, small enough to carry in a pocket and dependable, it is all of those things but make sure you carry a spare battery or two.

In the light conditions it is great, but in darker conditions it is really poor! My old Fuji s5000 and s5600 were ok in darker conditions, my Canon SX100 IS is good, but the Fuji Z100fd falls far short of all of them in darker conditions, even using night mode!

So If you are going bright places and buy a few spare batteries *which boosts the over all price somewhat* then this camera is ok.

Response time is slow using XD card and SDHC card and the way it always shows the photo that has just been taken is annoying also...

I still like the Camera, but this is not one of Fuji's best cameras in my view!

Best Compact Camera for an Awesome Price
Pros: I have been on the hunt for a Compact, Cheap, Brand Worthy, and Simple Camera in the price range of 0-0. This opens a huge market of different models, makers, and options. I decided that I wanted an Ultra Compact, simple, has the basic specs such as Image Stabilization, where I can easily point and shoot. Whether if I am at the park, a restaurant, party, or walking to my car. I was excited about the price for the Camera and the cheap replacement batteries you can find on the "bay". I also read almost all the professional reviews that popped up on Goggle search, around 13 reviews...YIKES and gave it Good-Great reviews. I also read COUNTLESS reviews on other Cameras that were in the same price range, but didn't fit all my needs. It came will a fully charged battery so I got to mess around with it right away. I love the menu settings where you can easily change settings from AUTO to Auction mode, the big, crisp 2.7" screen, slick and stylish design, and the PRICE!

Cons: none really. Thought my finger was going to interfere with the lens, but haven't had that problem. I can see it happen but the issue is very minimal.

My follow up and still LOVING it
Pros: For people comparing this to a DSLR, or higher end, your argument has no merit. You have to take into factor specs, price, brand, and etc. For the price it packs in alot, any other ultracompact, non extending lens, you will have to spend nearly double or triple the amount. This was my first purchase from newegg and I am impressed. I will definitely buy from here again. After messing around with it, I also got to play around with the Fuji z20fd and I made the right decision by getting this one, Fuji z100fd. For you get the hang of the menu functions, it is quite simple. It has neat features such as Natural Mode where it takes 2 pictures with no flash and one with flash. It also has e-auction mode where it takes 4 pictures, so when you auction off stuff it is very simple and squeezes 4 pics in 1. Battery life is great. Video mode picks up sound well, and easy function. Has a neat illuminating Z after every picture taken. 2GB holds about 1000 pictures at the highest resolution.

Cons: Video mode is great in low light conditions but i advise to take videos in a well lit surrounding. I wish they had a better software but it does the usual when you sync it to the computer. Out of all the other brands software, it is the same. I find it easier to just pop out the SD card and put it in my computer.

Other Thoughts: This is truly a great product for an awesome price. I think that if you are looking to get something similar for a child or teenager, I recommend getting the Fuji z20fd. It looks more 'stylish' to the youth. It offers 3x zoom while the z100fd offers 5x Zoom. the Fuji z20fd has great reviews with 4.7/5 ratings across major review sites.

Good For The Price
The lens being in the upper corner makes it real easy to get a finger in the picture. It takes some practice and it's something you have to be constantly aware of.

The slide cover is real easy to accidently open when you put it in your pocket or a camera case. You have to put it in in the direction that won't open the lens cover. I've run the battery down a couple times until I figured this out. Buy a spare battery.

I was very happy with the Fugi camera. It was exactly as I had seen in stores and as described by the online store. It came quickly and had all the necessary parts.

Wide angle adaptor for the price
I use this attachement for work and it makes it a lot easier to get an overview without walking back a long ways to get it. The adaptor does distort the picture a little, but not nearly as bad as the fish eye lens I have for my other camera. The adaptor even works for getting really close up pictures of documents, signatures and printed test show up almost as clearly as a scanner with using this adaptor with a fugifilm S700. It has a good look and feel when it is on the camera. I would recomend this product to anyone that is looking to get a better wide angle on there camera. If you use the camera's flash there will be a dark area on the bottom of the picture on close up photo's.

not worth it
i don't recomend buying this product, this lense will get you a wider shot, but the extra width will be blury, you can not use the zoom on the camera because the edges around the pictures will be blury, i took this lense with me on a vacation trip and mos of my pictures are worthless, i'm glad i did not use the lense for all my pictures

wide angle lens
This lens is excellent for its purpose, and I know I'll be using it a great deal in my photography work.It makes interior shots of specific interest (Church interior, outside building shots and group pictures) so much better to deal with. I will use this lens frequently and I am very pleased with the results.

Great accessory!!
This lens is a must have for the FujiFilm s700 DSR-Like camera. It's wide angle shots make shooting in regular mode plain. I am able to capture more with this lens, it's great.

Some Cons:
Found it extremely limited when using flash. Auto focus beam (red light) is blocked by the wide lens causing the focus to be off in low light pictures. The flash also yields a dark semi-circle where the flash was blocked from the top of the lens.

Some Pros:
Even with the low light flash blocking, this lens is a must have. I primarily purchased this for outdoor use and taking nice wide angle scene shots on vacation that doesn't require flash. I've noticed a remarkable amount of color correction when taking before/after shots of with/without lens.

I strongly recommend this high quality professional lens for your camera.

Must Have Accessory
Outstanding workmanship and build quality. Paid only but I'm pretty sure it could sell for a lot more. Excellent image quality comparable to a prime lens. Lens construction and materials are truly impeccable. Image quality is truly outstanding. Using this semi wide angle allowed me to stay in one position without backing up to capture the scene. Angle of view is comparable to a 35mm semi wide angle on a 35mm SLR lens. Wish I had ordered one comparable to a 28mm. Other websites state that lens made in Japan. However, it clearly states on the lens that it was made in China. I originally intended this lens for still pictures, however I was really surprised when I used on my Fujii S700 for moving video. Image quality is truly clear and vivid. Also attached it to my camcorder with equally impressive results. Just remember that lens can be attached to any still or video camera provided you get a appropriate step up ring. That way you can minimize the amount of accessory lenses. The 2x telephoto version is equally good so do yourself a favor and get both. Highly recommended.

Long life, holds charge!
Could be the F30, could be the battery, but I can shoot, even with some video, for hours!

For a long day out with video , I'd get a spare or 2.
They used to be so this price is amazing for a great battery.

Some rechargable need to be recharged if you let it sit in the camera unused for a week, but not these.
They seem to hold a full charge for weeks!

Not much to say about a battery, right? It works. No problems to report.

I bought it for my Fuji F31d. The only problem? The F31d is so easy on batteries, I barely have to recharge it. I could have gotten away without buying the spare, to be honest. The battery lasts longer in the Fuji camera for sure than any of the other 6 digital cameras I own.

Professional sensor cleaning for dSLR cameras
Photographic Solutions products are the manufacturer-recommended sensor cleaning products for many digital SLR cameras. Their Survival Kits are a handy way to get a small set of swabs, cleaning solution, and extra cleaning pads in a easy to carry package. One of these kits is good for 2-4 cleanings; frankly, unless you frequently change lenses in a dusty environment, this may be all you need for the useful lifetime of your camera.

I currently shoot with a Fuji S2 Pro, and the Survival Kit #1 is the recommended kit for my camera. Digital Solutions has simplified instructions in the kit, but they also maintain the manufacturer's own instructions on their website (handy, since each camera has different settings to lock up the mirror while cleaning, etc.).

Be sure to only swipe in one direction and only once per swab, so you do not scratch your sensor.

After getting my little digital camcorder and seeing how easy it would be for me to drop it and have it break into a million pieces I found this very handy camgrip and am pleased with it. Definitely worth it for this reason alone. I would have liked it a better if it were a little less awkward-perhaps not having it come out dead center of the camera but off to the side with a removable bracket.

Very satisfied with it
First off, I am an ordinary point-and-shoot gal with just a little tech knowledge to know enough how to play with digicams. I am not a photography expert. So this review is more for users like me.

My first digital camera was a Finepix 1 MP when it was freshly out of the market (bought it at 0 then in HongKong). It took sharp beautiful pictures and had very fast shutter speed (an important feature I came to appreciate when my husband had a 4MP Kodak, which could not capture the moment when you take pictures during family gatherings because of its super slow shutter speed which I presumed to be secondary to its higher MP). Because of that, he gave me a 6MP Finepix F10 as a gift (my 1 MP then had been giving me beatufiul pics for 5 years, through abuse of having been dropped at least 2 times from a height of 4 feet or 2 ft unprotected bya camera case, subjected to showers of some water or flour since I do foodblogging). One thing I can say, Finepix really lasts.

Now with F10, I am taking better photos with higher resolution as well. Very good in low light,especially when I want to take macro photos of my food. Ordinary photos of family and friends are very good. Pictures of family during night inside the house has become sharper compared to old Finepix (so it's an improvement). Sometimes I have enough light from the house lights that I even have to suppress the flash and F10 will automatically adjust and give me better, sharper photos. Its image-stabilization feature and still fast shutter speed are things to emphasize. Oh, and battery power really lasts, that my xD card's capacity is the limiting factor instead.

After owning the Finepix F10 and learning to use the additional features and adjusting to the different menu, my husband's Kodak 4MP suddenly went dead, no nothing... (after using it for about 2 years) and we suspected one of the kids probably dropped it (we had no proof). So on our anniversary I gave him a 12 MP Kodak (because that's what he was used to) though we had quite a wait for Kodak to come up with high MP that uses Li-Ion battery. Kodak seem to have improved on its shutter speed and still takes good quality photos. I cannot say much in comparison between the two because I do not want to bother learning how to use a different menu. I brought this up because I want to compare sturdiness. After 10 months of owning this new Kodak, it suddenly gave us pics with white horizontal lines, worse for outdoors photos, without having been subjected to dropping or water sprays (my husband made sure he took good care of this one, not allowing any of the kids use it). Good thing we kept the receipt. It just went to the manufacturer yesterday for repair. Hope they won't charge us anything.

My F10 is still going...still subjected to flour, oily/sticky hands, dust, sprinkles...

Oh, and I love the size...enough for me to handle it. I never liked too little cameras because they are hard to handle. The casing also appears expensive, not plastic. Not sure what it is made of. And yes, it is made in Japan...Love it!

Why I am giving it 4 stars??? Because I have not spent enough time with it to truly learn how to use other features/settings which I rarely use. But for my most-often used settings, I give it 5 stars.

One of the greatest Camera!
I adore this camera. I now also have the F31fd which is also great. You can't go wrong with Fuji.

Over 3 and still kickin!
Figured I should finally review this product. After having it for 3 years, I can definitely say this is the best digital camara I've ever owned. I've had quite a few different brands of camera run through my family & friends and this one always comes out on top as most convenient AND highest quality.

It was my first personal camera as well, and I think I'll be sticking with the Fuji brand for a long time. 3 years after getting it, it still has great battery life- I only have to charge it twice a month (tops) and I use this thing ALL the time. Like almost every day. Cam to computer is easy as pie- no software needed. Great quality photos- I'm an art student, so I use this camera for all sorts of things; personal photos of friends, artistic photography, reference photos, and for taking high quality photos of my work. It's never failed me!

I have to say, everyone who encounters me using thing is instantly jealous and starts asking about it. Same with photos I post online. People with their own cameras (including my sister, who has two professional cameras of her own) always just end up asking to borrow mine because it's just so darn easy to use and takes great pics! Point-n-shoot, baby. Fast as lightning~ (Yeah that like second start-up time? Awesoooome!)

Letting go of this cam will be hard, but I intend to keep it as LONG as it lives! And it's been through its fair share of bumps & dents, hehe. But when I do eventually run this thing into the ground, I plan on buying the most similar cam Fuji has to offer! ;)

Good Buy For Buck
This camera, though less-pricy than some of its competitors, outshines the competition. It might not be the best buy for you if you want incredibly professional quality photos, but for the more casual/ informal photographers, this camera rocks!! You have your choice of various scene settings, and the picture quality is usually good (even if on the higher ISO settings). The camera also has other nifty features that prevent blurry photos and unfocused shots. My only problem with this camera is that the capture button is sometimes hard to maneuver, and a little resistant at times. Overall, however, this camera is a good buy for your buck!!

Fuji CAmera CAse for the F31fd and F40fd
This is the second Fuji Camera Case I have purchased for Fuji Camera's. I have the F31fd and I got my wife the F40fd. The case is a perfect fit, solid enough for good protection and big enough to handle the camera and the flip-up sun shield. Easy to carry either on person or in luggage. It is always good to get a case that is made for the camera and this one is.

I love this case
I love this case..The camera is well protected, and I can take it everywhere...I am wearing it right now...Its a pain to have my camera in my pocket where keys and such can scratch it...I love taking my camera everywhere AND not have to worry about what's rattling around my pockets...

Only downsides...the case is not waterproof...and the leather stretches a bit...

Very beautiful and elegant but ...
3 major misgivings:
1.from a practical perspective the camera and case are not conjoined and given the short handstrap taht fuji provides with their cameras you need to have 3 hands to use this case while taking a picture. 2 hands to hold the camera and a third hand to hold the case. I solved this problem by buying a long neck strap and wrapping it around the side of the case.
2.This case also makes the whole package bulky and it is held closed by a magentic clasp and not velcro.
3.It really does not protect the camera fom the elements as the camera is not covered completely.

Other than that it is beautiful and makes a great fashion statement.
