Little piece of crap
After carefully checking every reviewed camera on amazon we decided to purchase a pink one for my daughter last christmas. She was trully happy, good quality image, blah, blah, blah
After a month of use the LCD screen went black and since my kid had lost the receipt nothing could be done but I agree... what about their quality?
An almos 5 star product should not be allowed such crappy behavior.
Now she has no camera.
:(

Batteries drain even when turned OFF
Decent performance, size and price. But if you use it only occasionally then every time you pick it up the batteries will be dead/low. Scene mode seems very susceptible, it always thinks the batteries are low after 20 shots or a week of being off. Been through 20 sets of batteries of all different brands, and the battery type is set correctly in setup. Would avoid, other cameras seem to have same problem so research carefully.

DON'T BUY COOLPIX L10
I bought this camera seven months ago. I paid like 0 for it. I did not use it that much but the shuter button broke. I sent it to Nikon for repair. They sent me the bill for 5.59. I called Nikon and they told me to send by fax receipt so that they can honor warranty. I'm still waiting for answer.

For an amateur (like me) GREAT
I bought the L10 in Panama several weeks ago. My old camera was stolen earlier, and cameras are very expensive in Costa Rica where I live now. I paid 0.00 which was a little above the Amazon price.

I slapped a 2 gig memory card in it and started taking pictures. I never read the instructions or fooled around with the settings. (The salesperson set it on automatic for me.)I have a USB card reader for my computer and downloading the pictures is a snap.

Since then I lent it to my housekeeper for a child's birthday party. She took pictures with it and she let the little kids take pictures.

Bottom line--there haven't been any bad pictures yet from an amateur's viewpoint. I know that it is not adequate for professions, but if my kind use is the kind of use you make of a camera--I highly recommend it. And my star rating is for this kind of use.

Nice simple camera
Bought this for Christmas and have been very pleased since. Simple functionality for taking pictures. Takes clear decent pictures with very few shaky images. The best part is the low usage on batteries (use rechargable). Had a Panasonic that sucked batteries dry before. In the end, this camera is perfect for quick picts.

Awesome cable
If you have an SB-800, this thing is tits. I love that it has the light to help the autofocus in low light situations. This works great. I shoot really sharp pictures with this.

The best
Nikon rules... !!! This works like a charm... use it all the time...

Nikon SC29 flash sync cord
Adorama had the best price and the service was great. The cord is much better that the third party cords that I have seen. This is definitely a quality product!

Must have tool for any serious photographer
I have needed to get my Nikon flash "off camera" for some time now and this is the perfect sync cord for that. I like the fact that it has the additional luminator for low light situations. I got to use this cord immediately for a wedding and it worked like a champ...great price from Amazon too.

must have
I love this product. I use with Nikon D70 and even though it says made for multiple flash. I used with 1 SB-600 single flash on a flash bracket and it worked great for a wedding I shot last weekend!!

Just buy it already, you won't be sorry!!!
I bought this as a gift for someone on my list but after it was opened I found myself using it. This is a really nice little camera and takes very nice photo's for a point and shoot.

My only complaint would be the delay between when you push the button and when it takes the pic, but as with any point and shoot you will get this delay so I'm not going to knock it.

The bottom line is that you can't beat this little camera for the price.

Great camera
It's a great and compact camera. Takes great pictures, specially in outdoors. It takes pictures with great quality.

Decent Camera- If you only shoot stills
I received my Coolpix L18 as a birthday gift. For photos, I'd give it only 2 stars. For video, considering what the camera is (a portable webcam), I'd give it 4 stars... Hence the 3 star rating.

For a camera primarily designed for still pictures, the Coolpix camera does a decent job with video. If you're a video blogger, or just want something small that can fit in your pocket, then the Coolpix camera might be for you.

HOWEVER, if you're taking photos of anything other than stationary objects, you will find this camera to be quite frustrating. There is a shutter lag of nearly two seconds, which is plenty of time for a moving object to leave the field of the viewfinder or change to an undesirable position. I had hoped that disabling the flash (to get rid of the pre-flash) would eliminate this problem, and while there is a slight decrease in the delay, it's not enough to make a big difference.

In addition, there are problems with the auto-focus. It has some nice functions for focusing on faces, but if you like to take close-ups (as I do with my nature photography... with flowers and butterflies), you can expect your subject to be completely fuzzy and out of focus. This is also a problem in low-light conditions with photos that aren't close-up.

Sure, this camera can take some decent pictures, but if you want to take pictures at sporting events, animals, low light conditions and close-ups, DON'T GET THIS CAMERA!!! You will only develop a lot of frustration.

Great Slim Camera
This is a great little camera. I am generally a fan of the larger cameras with a more professional look. I bought this camera because I recently had a baby and I needed something that wasn't so big to carry around. This is a great little camera to slip in the pocket of a diaper bag or in a pants pocket. The pictures it takes are also very good. If you are in a dimly lit room however, the flash does creat a shadow on the bottom of your pictures, so be careful with that. Otherwise this is a great camera that can travel anywhere without being a pain.

Great Buy!
This was exactly the item I was searching for at a great price. I gave it as a gift for a young teenager. She loves it.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amazing batteries! I wasn't sure about ordering a battery other than a Nikon brand one. I just returned from an 8 day cruise and had inserted one of these fully charged the day before i left. I took over 600 pictures with the camera (about 25% used with the flash), reviewed them all more than once during and after the cruise on the camera itself, then got home and took some more pictures for Christmas, AND still have 2/3 of the battery strength left according to the camera!!!!! Never before has a battery impressed me this much!!! I might order another pair of these just to have!!! These batteries are awesome!!!!

Great batteries
I was leery to buy non-Nikon batteries but I am so glad I did. These batteries are in my battery grip and they are functioning beyond my expectations by a long shot. I only have had to charge them once a month and I shoot almost daily.

Definitely a great product.

Better than the stock battery
I bought these batteries for my Nikon D60. My battery time has doubled. 1800MaH per battery. What more can you want.

Better than Standard Nikon Battery
Just finished using mine for almost 1 month and have the second battery charged and ready in my camera backpack. My first battery is still going and have only taken about 100 shots. The battery indicator on my Nikon D60 still shows full and the camera has been exposed to temps above 100 degrees, sat idle with the camera "on" by mistake, and I've used the preview photos button hundreds of times to see what I've taken which uses the battery up. Bottom line: With the capacity size of these batteries against the standard battery that comes with the camera, this was a "must have" for me. The price for a 2-pack justifies the cost and longevity of the batteries. Also Amazon delivered my order fast! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

good spares
always good to have spare batteries. have not had these long but i am not expecting any problems. so far holding their charge very well

Nice Lens... Disregard the flack
I have a D300 and my results with this lens are quite positive, let me tell you. My model will take nice pictures with ANYTHING! All the Nikon DX series are awesome, powerful cameras. The 55-200 lens took nice snapshots of my child moving about in a dimly lit room with a flash. I have seen inspiring, professional results using this lens on a basic D40 kit.

I am not shocked at people discounting this nice zoom lens because it isnt a 200mm fancy portriat lens, or is it simply because it isn't the more favorable VR model. In this case, there is no difference in quality. Awww, No VM? Think of it this way, No VM means less internal parts to break.

The idea is that you buy the accessories that are right for you. It's what you want, not what they want.

The 55-200mm lens compliments any DX series camera. If you have your lighting and your composition set, you are good to go, and you need not worry about taking less than great pictures. You can even achieve even more amazing results with this 55-200m lens using 52mm filters, and when editing in photoshop.

With the money you save, buy a nice 52mm UV & circular polarizer to use with the 55-200.

It is a compact and lightweight zoom lens.

It has the top of the line ED glass.

It is affordable. A retail value of 250.00, it's a deal for [amazon's price] but don't let the cheap price translate as a cheap lens, or that you will get cheap results with the 55-200. Dont let people scare you. You will take nice pictures with this lens, but go ahead buy the 55-200mm VS for a hundred dollars more if it makes you feel better!

; ) lol

Nikon 55-200mm
This is a great all around lens. It has sharp detail and easy to use.

Good, quick response
Good, quick delivery, several days ahead of the predicted arrival date. Product works like a dream. Good clarity of images.

Defective Nikkor Zoom Lens
The lens while received proved to be defective. Bad contacts cause totally unacceptable irregular performance.

nikon 55-200m lens
Great lens. Super fast shipping. Lens in perfect condition. Works great. Would definitely recommend to others.

Excellent camera but can't download to Windows 2000 by cable
Pros: Uses standard AA batteries, not proprietary rechargables; sharp pictures; good lens zoom range; flash does NOT automatically charge until needed, which lets you turn it off to save batteries; high ISO mode lets you take pictures in church without flash; many tweaks possible to optimize pix.

Cons: Cannot download pix via cable to Windows 2000 computer, must use card reader for that - which results in a lot of opening & closing of battery door since card is in the same compartment. Cable works fine with XP computer. Nikon cameras greater than 8 megapixels all use proprietary rechargeable batteries.

Good camera, poor service
The camera is fine. Just what I wanted. However, I also ordered a case for the new camera and some how that got lost in the shuffle. Since the camera and the case were to come from two different suppliers I didn't notice the fact that the case was never included on any order. I have made due with another case I had on hand but I would have rather had the one I originally ordered. But since I didn't pay for it, I'm not out anything but inconvenience.

I'll never buy a Nikon again
We bought this camera in April, 2007 from Amazon. It worked ok, not great. It took several seconds to store each picture and be ready to take another one, even though I bought a very fast flash memory card. The battery cover broke almost immediately, so the batteries are now held in by a piece of tape. Within 5 months of purchase, however, we got the dreaded "LCD read error." The lens was stuck halfway open, the camera wouldn't focus, and it made a horrible grinding sound when turned on or off. We sent it in for service, and it's still there 3 months later. I've called Nikon many times, and they always assure me the camera is almost fixed and I'll have it back in a jiffy. Weeks later, I'm still camera-less, so I call again and get the same story. These guys make a flimsy camera and have no idea how to service it. Never again

A capable inexpensive winner
After much research and pavement pounding I recently decided to buy a Nikon P60. I have had no regrets on buying this fine camera and it does 95% of what I need a camera to do.

On macro work the camera is quite good as I have taken a number of very good closeups of flowers, insects, and other small things like bare microchips. Hard to find fault here except on some subjects I've had to take two or three shots to get a good one. I personally chalk this little problem up to operator error because I'm still learning about what this little gem can do.

Using this camera for outdoor photography is where it shines. Unlike most modern point and shoot cameras that depend entirely upon the big LCD on the back of the case, which is glare prone on every one that I've seen, this camera has a viewfinder with a tiny, but very good LCD in it that simply removes the glare issue. The other added bonus in using the viewfinder instead of the big LCD on the back of the camera is greatly increased battery life. I managed close to 500 shots on a single pair of AA alkaline batteries using this feature alone.

If there is any weakness in this camera it has to be the same with all small frame point and shoot cameras, the flash. To me it is amazing the output of the tiny flash unit built into the camera but it is quite limited. When buying this camera you have to keep in mind that all indoor flash photography is best when your subject is between ten and twenty feet away. At least that's where I've gotten the best results in all the various modes that require the flash when I've used this camera.

The real bright spot with this camera is the fireworks mode. I suggest having some kind of camera stand when using this mode because when you hit the switch the shutter will remain open for a full four seconds thus getting a good exposure of the fireworks in motion, leaving nice traces in the image looking like some beautiful artwork in the end. Really fantastic. I intend to experiment with this scene mode in other situations, like parties or night time city scenes.

There are many other scene modes but I do not have time, or space to review them all but there are three other strong points with this point and shoot camera.

1. Lens body is quite good with very little distortion at the higher levels of zoom.

2. This camera has a natural 5x zoom capability, and also a digital zoom. Disable the digital zoom, as in all digital cameras I consider that feature worthless, stay with the optical zoom. If you need to get closer to the subject then handle that with post processing in your favorite photo editing program but be certain to have the camera at its highest quality (least amount of compression) setting and resloution (highest mega-pixel setting).

3. The P60 takes two standard AA batteries, not some special format. Add to that the battery chamber is quite well designed so that the batteries will not get stuck in the case. The previous camera that I have been using now has a Li-Ion battery that is solidly stuck within the case. When it dies that four year old beater will be going to the landfill. Add to that getting new batteries will not be a problem because AA's are sold everywhere.

In summary I feel that this is a wonderful camera for the price that is quite capable of what it was designed for but remember it is a mid-range point and shoot style camera with a few more features, useful features, than your standard point and shoot style camera. If you need a camera to do more then you need to look at the high end point and shoots like the Nikon P80 or P6000 which has a RAW file mode.

Nikon Digital Camera CoolPix P60
Very nice product. I took it on a cruize and it worked out very well. Once I learned how to change the default setting to suit my needs, it was GREAT. Speedy delivery. Nice price. Night shots were not very good but probably because I have not had a chance to experiment with the settings as yet. I had only one week to get used to it before the cruize. It came with a wrist strap but I would like to get a neck strap. It would be more convenient for me. Also the vibration reduction is good for this camera and for the price it suits me just fine. The one step up model is supposed to be better at this but costs 0 more so I think I will stick with this model.

Quick shipping and just what wanted
Purchased this for my son who was going to Korea. Wanted him to have extra batteries. Received within 2 days. Very good service.

wrong product
It says it's a spare battery for the coolpix S series camera, but yet it does not seem to fit into my coolpix S52C. I should've waited until I got the camera and read the manual as to which are the compatible accessories. Be sure you don't make the same mistake!

Nikon Camera Battery
This battery is exactly the same as the one that came with my Nikon Coolpix S600.

rechargable battery
very happy with this product just what I was looking for and quik delivery thank you.

you can't miss with oem parts
It pays [me at least] to purchase Original Manufacturer's Parts especially when it comes to the difference in only a few buck-os given the agrivation a weak battery can cause.

Basic Nikon zoom adds useful wide angle reach
I chose the 16-85mm over Nikon's other basic DSLR zooms (18-xx/xxx) primarily due to its wider zoom capability on the short end, and I have been extremely satisfied with my choice. A 2mm difference doesn't seem like much, but it is very nearly equivalent to the difference between 24mm and 28mm lenses on a 35mm-sized camera. That is a very noticeable difference and enough to make the 16-85 a useful wide angle lens. The 16mm setting is great. It gives a perspective that is striking enough to produce interesting images but close enough to normal to avoid looking unnatural. An ultra-wide still has its place, but 16mm (24mm equivalent) is such a useful focal length to have that it puts the 16-85mm in a category, for me, that is one notch above the 18-xx/xxx lenses.

It helps that by most accounts the 16-85mm is optically the best of the lot. I'm not really equipped to evaluate the lens' technical qualities, but those who have done so tend to note that this lens addresses most of the minor flaws found among the rest of Nikon's basic DSLR zooms, making it likely the sharpest and least flawed of a good lot. I can confirm that it produces strikingly colorful photos that are sharp and mostly free of undesirable effects. Mine does produce some ghosting when shooting photos with the sun actually in the frame, which I often do. I wouldn't fault it too heavily on that basis.

The 16-85's toughest competition is probably the 18-200. I didn't really consider the 200 because Nikon seems to have had to give up just a bit too much in terms of optical quality to get the zoom range. Still, many buyers will compare the two, as they are similar in cost and quality and perform similar functions for most users. I'm actually a bit surprised how infrequently I need to go beyond 85mm on a DSLR. 85mm is a good, useful telephoto range that provides a fair measure of distance compression and allows me to get the perspective I want in the telephoto range for most normal subjects. The 85-200mm range, for me, is really mostly useful for special conditions photography - shooting distant subjects that I have no way to get closer to. For that type of purpose I don't mind having to switch lenses, and the bonus here is that the 70-300mm VR becomes an excellent and affordable complement to the 16-85mm. That combination, although more expensive, provides usefully greater range at both ends than the 18-200mm without quite the optical compromises the 18-200mm seems to require. Nikon's 28-200mm "G" lens could be another very useful complement to the 16-85mm as it has a reputation for optical excellence, good macro capabilities and is light and fairly inexpensive.

The bottom line is that the 16-85mm is a no-excuses basic lens that serves very well for quite a broad scope of basic photography. I feel confident when I use it that I am getting very close to the best image quality possible. The only thing the lens gives up is speed, and that is surely by necessity. If you wanted a combination of fast lenses that would approximate this range you would need to get both Nikon's 17-35mm f/2.8 and 24-70mm f/2.8, at a combined cost of k, and would still need to add either a 70-200 or an 85mm prime at the long end. VR makes the lack of speedy apertures acceptable for basic shooting. I love my 16-85.

Awesome lens except for macro shots
This lens is sharp and functions very well. I only have a few minor demerits:

1) At 16mm there is slight light falloff in the corners. It's usually not detrimental to the picture quality in real life. Small sacrifice for those extra 2mm.

2) This is a terrible lens for macro shots. The ratio is something like 1:4.6. In this zoom range (and price range) I would normally expect better macro performance. I already have a 'macro' lens that does 1:2 but because this lens has poor macro performance I lose out on the potential VR benefit during handheld macro shots (not to mention that I have to change lenses to shoot macro). Honestly, if I didn't already have a macro lens I would likely return it on this basis alone.

3) The VR is not really noticeable on this lens at wide angles. I'm sure this is a common issue due to wide angles being less sensitive to camera shake - but I honestly don't notice a difference when the VR is turned on. I know the Nikon VR works great in my longer 70-300mm lens. On that lens the difference VR makes is like night and day.

Other than those issues, this lens is super sharp and has less distortion than most other lenses in this same range. The colors are accurate (not saturated). The focusing seems pretty fast and quiet. Great walkaround lens. Except for the crappy macro performance, this lens would get five stars from me.

Perfect match for the D90
After much research and advice from fellow photographers, I opted not to purchase the "kit lens" for my D90. I am happy to say that this is an outstanding walk-about. It produces crisp, sharp images and it's not too large or clumsy to handle. The lens provides a nice range for family gatherings, portraits, a day in the wood or cityscapes. It's a perfect match for my D90. You won't be disappointed.

It's a Nikon
I use the 16-85 as a companion to the 70-300. The 16mm wide end is very nice for general shooting. The quality of build and optics is typical Nikon. The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5, the hood will cast a very strong shadow in your photo if you do not take it off before using the built in flash. At least this is true when used with the D60. I am surprised that this got past the good folks at Nikon. Otherwise it's a great product.

A great general purpose lens.
This lens is just right for me. Ideal for indoors, at museums, at the zoo, in the garden. It is a very good macro lens for casual use without special accessories... great for small flowers, bugs, coins, jewelry. None of the problems that come up when using long telephoto lenses. No creep when pointing down. Very light. Works great on my Nikon D80.

The Nikon MH-62 Charger - Works for Newer Cameras Like the S52 and S52c
Nikon MH-62 Battery Charger for Coolpix P1, P2, S1 & S3 Digital Camera is designed to charge the rechargable Lithium-ion EN-EL8 battery. I doubt many people are still buying or using the P1, P2, S1 and S3 these days. The good news is that this is the same battery used in the newer versions of Nikon's S class cameras, including the Nikon Coolpix S52 and the Nikon Coolpix S52c.

I don't know if any newer P series cameras still use the EN-EL8, as several I have purchased appear to use AA batteries. But the S5x series cameras definitely use this battery and charger, as I have owned several and this is compatible with all of them.

The small indicator light on the charger will blink till it is charged. When the light turns solid, it is important to remove the battery so as to not over-charge it. While this charger appears to not overcharge (I've left it in a little longer by accident) it's impossible to tell and I am incredibly paranoid about burning out those LI-ON batteries.

Charging is quick and generally done within about an hour. I have no complaints with the way it works.

But I do have to deduct at least 1 star for the price, which seems slightly high for what it is.

There are other chargers made by 3rd parties, but I stick with Nikon branded ones to protect my investment and preserve the life of my batteries.

While all Nikon cameras that use rechargeable batteries generally come with chargers, having an extra is a must for travel or convenience. Definitely grab one if you have an S5x series camera or another one that uses the rechargable lithium-ion EN-EL8 battery.

Enjoy!

works like it should
Simple. The product charges my camera's battery. A must have if you're into that kinda thing.

Great Product
My old charger was iffy as to the contacts connecting so i replaced it with this charger and it works beautifully and it charges real fast.

Good unit with one minor problem
Good product - however - for long term storage the battery should be DISCHARGED ! I would hope the unit would AUTOMATICALLY take care of that necessity, charging the battery when one wanted to use it, perhaps overnight the night before intended use.

Nikon MH-62 Review
We tried ordering another compatible battery charger from another web site. The price gave you more for your money, but when we got the product it didn't work. We went ahead and ordered this one, which is what actually came with the camera, and it worked perfectly. I'm glad Amazon had it available.
