good lens for the money
This lens is on my Pentax K100 super and does a good job. It is not the quietest lens on the market but not bad either.

Great Lens
This is a great lens and I am extremely pleased with the results I am getting. Sharpness and clarity are on par with the more expenses lenses made for the high end cameras(I compared mine with a Nikon D80 18-200mm).

I bought it because it is such a hassel to carry a lot of lenses. Changing lens carries the risk of getting dirt and lint inside the camera body. If tiny particles get on the mirror, they will show up in the pic and have to be removed with a computer. Even though I have a Pentax K10D, I simply did not want to take that risk. The lens hood is a bit cumbersome to put on, bit I solved that with a rubber collapsable hood. I don't think that problem should take away a star.

Another great feature about this lens, when using manual focus, it flashes little red "dots" when you go past the correct focus point. After discovering that feature, most of my shooting is done manually, except for fast action stuff and moving objects. Macro and scenery are all manual now.Pentax K10D 10.2MP Digital SLR Camera with Shake Reduction and 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens

Tamron 18-200 for Pentax
I'm happy with it. Worth the price. It's compact and lightweight. Can do portraits at 18mm and zoom over birds and distant subjects. It is also reasonably good for macro photos - tried it in some butterflies and small insects.
Problems: Needs a lot of light. Cannot control aperture manually in the lens (most people may not care about that).

Good image quality, good value, excellent versatility
Before purchasing my Pentax K100D, I had for years used all three models in the Canon Powershot S-series of "superzoom" fixed-lens cameras (S1, S2 and S3). I like my Pentax digital SLR a lot, but after I purchased it (and sold my Canon) I really missed the Canon's versatility. I have recovered most of that versatility with this Tamron 18-200 DiII lens, which is good at the wide angle end, good in the middle and pretty good at telephoto as well (I like to shoot birds) and which even provides some macro capability. This is now my default all-purpose lens. It's not the best choice for low-light shooting, but if the light's decent or you can use a flash, this is a good lens, takes good photos, and is a very good value. To do noticeably better than this, you will have to pay a lot more and probably give up the versatility, too.

I give the lens a rating of 4 stars rather than 5 simply because, by nature, this is a bit of a compromise lens. If you don't need the versatility - if for example you don't really need focal lengths over 70mm - then you can get a lens with slightly superior image quality for the same price or even less (perhaps much less if you buy used). The Pentax 50-200 may be slightly sharper in the telephoto range. My Sigma 28-70 F2.8 is faster in its range (the Tamron's max aperture is 3.5). And while it's fine for my needs, this lens deserves to be called macro only in a generous sense. But as a total package, it's hard to beat.

zoom lenses for DSLR camera
di II lenses are excellent. For anyone considering a new Digital SLR camera, I recommend buying "Body Only" and add a Tamron 18-200 to your shopping cart.

WELL WORTH THE MONEY
Ive only recharged the pentax (that came with my W-60),and this battery 3 or 4 times, but the nextop has actually outlasted the pentax! It will be some time (I hope) before I'll determine overall life, but for the $ (under 10 dollars) nextop wins by a mile!

Pentax 21mm F/3.2 AL Limited Lens for Pentax Digital SLR Cameras

Pentax 21mm F/3.2 AL Limited Lens for Pentax Digital SLR Cameras
Binding: Electronics
Manufacturer: Pentax
Product Description:
With newly developed, high-performance optics, this new lens measures only one inch (25 millimeters long) and weighs a mere 4.9 ounces (140 grams). Mounted on a PENTAX digital SLR camera body, the lens protrudes very little from the camera's front panel, making it an ideal choice for carry-everywhere, instantaneous snapshot photography. This versatile angle of view produces natural images with a moderate perspective and an expanded depth of field (or a wide in-focus area), making it ideal for many different types of subjects and occasions, including snapshots, landscape, travel photos, and architecture. The DA 21mm incorporates a hybrid aspherical lens in its eighth optical element to effectively compensate for a variety of aberrations, which cause adverse effects on overall image quality. In order to assure high-quality image reproduction over the entire focusing range, it also features a floating mechanism, which is designed to adjust the degree of aberration compensation in relation to the focusing distance.

A lot of lens in a petite package!
Back in the '80's I owned a Pentax ME Super and I thereafter soon bought several "M" lenses to go with it (most notably the 28mm F2.8 and the 135mm F3.5). These lenses were given the "M" classification because of their Miniature size. I always loved the optical and mechanical performance of those little wonders. I have now finally found in the 21st Century an equivalent (actually they're even a bit better!) in the Pentax Limited Series. I am now the proud owner of three of that breed: the DA 21mm f3.2, the DA 35mm f2.8 Macro and the DA 70mm f2.4. I love the 21mm- it's perfect for street photography, landscapes, all around "snapshots" and, with it's close focusing, even near macro. It's small in size and light in weight which makes it a joy to carry and it is actually made of real metal! It focuses quite fast with AF and if needed it can be overridden to manual focus without pushing any buttons or moving any levers. While it is in the wide angle family, it is not an ultra wide, so there is little to no distortion to be found. I would highly reccomend this lens (and any member of the Pentax Limited Series, for that matter) to anyone who wishes to push the boundaries of their photographic experience and invest in some superior quality primes. You can see the difference!

Great walkaround lens!
Lens is extremely light and of highest build quality and has an equivalent 32.5mm focal length when used on a APS-C sensor.

great carry around lense
This is the perfect lense for walking around and grabbing shots. Easy small and the quality is great. If my main purpose isn't to take pictures but I want to have my camera with me or if I am trying to be more inconspicuous it's the one to have.

AMAZING Lens!
I just bought this lens for my Pentax K10D and it is truly stellar. I love to shoot wide angle landscapes and this lens has such clarity and absolutely no flaws that I can find so far. I have not had to use denoising software on a picture I've taken with it yet. It is well worth the price you will pay for it, and I have no doubt that it will be the "prime" lens affixed to my camera most of the time.

Great Lens
I love this lens. The focal length is directly in the "sweet spot" for street photography, indoors, landscapes and even aerial photos. It focuses amazingly close for dramatic macro-like effects, and when you combine this with a small aperture you can get a very wide depth-of-field, as well. Overall, a very well-made "stealth" lens that is a versatile must-have!

Fantastic
I bought this camera for my wife's birthday present (Dec. 15). She is "electronicly challenged", but it is so easy for her to use. The pictures are so clear. I am sure there are better cameras out there, but I don't think you'll beat this one for the price. I am more than pleased, I am ecstatic. You would have to know my wife to appreciate this review!

Pentax Optio S12 12MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom
Camera is easy to operate and fun to use. When my wife saw it she started using it and likes if better than her large big name camera and I have to fight her to get to use it.

For its small size it has a lot of features that normally are only found on larger more expensive cameras. I have owned Pentax cameras since Viet Nam and they usually match up nicely with most of the more well known brands.

Would purchase this camera again today!

excellent product
I would like to say that this is the best camera that I have ever had. Excellent quality of the pictures, simple menu, too many options, small size and so on. I had a Sony Cybershot and I was extremly disappointed from them. So bad camera, bad quality of the pictures, problem with the batteries and so on... Highly recommend Pentax brand and especially this camera!!!

Little beauty
First off: I am hardly a professional photographer, but I have been taking pictures for 45 years. So my review will not be full of technical stuff.
I gave up film cameras quite a while ago.My first digicam was a whopping 1.3mps,which I thought was astounding.I gradually progressed up to the point where I have this little gem,all 12MP's of it. I am using it as a replacement for a small, but hard-working Nikon P&S.Not a replacement, more of an addition...but I didn't want to carry a really expensive camera on my motorcycle,or when I take the menagerie to the dog park,so I use the Nikon for those things, and this Pentax for everything else.
It takes wonderful photos. It's very intuitive, and if you have ever used a typical P&S camera, you will catch up to this one in a few shoots. It takes good shots in any kind of outdoor lighting, and indoors as well. The clarity of each shot is great.Close-ups of my animals are especially good.I can see every whisker and the evil glistening in their eyes as they plot yet another way to create havoc in my house.I took one of my parrot, who hates cameras, and the "pinning" of his eyes was caught in all its maniacal glory.
I am going to use this tiny thing for a long time.It is extremely tiny, but that makes it more useable.Pocket-size is great for a P&S.I haven't noticed any unusual color problems.
All in all,it's a great camera, and I am quite happy with my purchase.

General Brand 58 mm White Balance Lens Cap Disk
I have been taking pictures of my granddaughter playing basketball. In April and May, I did not have this white balance tool. Even though I tried using the in camera white balance selections (Tungsten or Fluorescent) my colors were off because of the lights. I bought this custom white balance tool before she started playing basketball in September. It has made a remarkable difference. The skin tones are much nicer, the colors inside the gym are more accurate. The price is affordable as compared to a "Expodisc". I am pleased with the results. The down side is: It comes with a plastic filter ring that the cap snaps onto. This plastic ring is very hard to thread onto the camera lens. I pitched that ring and just use it on my UV/Skylight filter when making the custom white balance adjustment.

Prolight Inverted Clear Dome Flash Diffuser System for Canon 550EX, 580EX, 580EX II, Pentax AF-540FGZ, & Sigma EF-500 & EF-530 Flash Units
Binding: Electronics
Manufacturer: Prolight
Product Description:
The Lightpro Dome diffuser is a large, round, soft and flexible diffuser that slips over the front of compatible flash units. The inside of the dome is completely textured to make the light dispersion even more "soft" than it would be otherwise. And because of this design, it is possible to make the material more translucent, keeping the unit from losing a lot of light while actually increasing the diffusion and softness of light. The included inverted dome allows you to softly diffuse direct light with a large, soft source without creating flare on the front of your lens. This clear version is ideal for fast action, large groups and dimly lit scenes.

Cheap versus frustration
I am torn by this product. The price is great and my photos actually come out much nicer using it BUT, it is such a thin plastic that the covers pop off the inverter and the inverter itself does not come with anything to secure it to your flash so it will slide down the flash and also make the covers pop off. If they would just make the rim a little thicker that would solve the pop off problem and make some sort of velcro strap to secure it then I think for the price it would be perfect.

Significantly improves the light coverage evenness of 430EX
As seen in the series of test photos that I uploaded, the inverted dome diffuser works very well, particularly in a wide angle setting. The biggest surprise I uncovered during testing out this diffuser was how poorly Canon 430EX projected the light. At 18mm (equivalent to 28mm full frame), the corners are a few stops darker than middle. It gives the images a tunnel vision pattern. The unevenness gets a little better as focal length increases, but is still visible at 55mm (90mm full frame). I was equally surprised by how much this inverted dome diffuser improved the image quality. I am not sure of 580EX but I think every 430EX owner should consider a small investment like this.

There are some minor issues. The most annoying one is the difficulty to mount it when the flash is on the camera. the rectangular opening is a little out of shape, making inserting the flash head in there a frustrating process. The small curve on top of 430EX (for pulling out the built-in diffuser) complicated the matter even more. The cup is rigid. Although it is not heavy, it takes space in your camera bag.

With regard to the amber dome filter, I am not sure if I will ever use it. I can also do manual white balance in camera or with a imaging processing software.

Overall, this is a durable, functional and affordable diffuser. 430EX would be a poor flash without it.

Always keep a spare battery at hand
My Pentax K20D actually keeps excellent batteery life, but I don't want to take the chance of missing a great shot if it does run low. This is 'capture' insurance

Great battery
Battery is reasonably priced, doesn't take long to charge up, and seems to last forever before needing recharged. I highly recommend it!

Pentax D-150 Lithium Battery
Good buying experience. Battery was exactly what I had ordered. Shipping was great, I received my order within 5 work days. Absolutely no complaints.

Better than a nice to have...
I've run out of juice only a few times, but having the second battery kept me going. I simply recharge the drained one and use it as the next backup. Very useful and essential if photographing away from an oulet.

Not Name Brand, but Works the Same
I've got the battery that came with my K10D and two of these. They work great in all weather, hold the same charge as the Pentax one, etc. I can't tell the difference between the name brand and these without really close inspection.

Excellent little workhorse
I purchased this camera to replace 5mp camera. The huge screen makes lining up those shoots a breeze, pictures have all turned out very nice (though red-eye seems a little bit more common than I am used too), and I absolutely LOVE the video recording. Sure the video is not put on your TV quality, but for those times when you don't carry a full camcorder around and just happen to have this in the car or wife's purse, the video is perfect. Since I live away from home, I am able to upload these smaller videos for family back home and allow them to see allot of our lives that they would miss.
A great camera, especially for the very low price.

disappointed
My pictures comes out dark when i am taping a dance video in a club.. when i put auto flash the pictures comes out as if there were ghosts all around and it comes out yellow. i have to put flash oen when i am in a dark place and sometime it comes out dark yellow.. everytime i take pictures the screen goes black then if the people move after the flash it comes out blurry..it is nothing like what i heard it will be.. money wasted.

Misleading about an accessory
I like to use an ac power cord when doing work where the camera is connected to the computer, to save on battery life. This is also suggested in the instruction manual. But though the specs say this camera comes with an ac cord, that cord doesn't connect to the camera; it's part of the battery charger. To buy the right ac cord, you must go to another vendor, and put out another -40. Also, I haven't found any photo stitch ability the ability to align several landscape photos and then stitch them together) with this camera. I do like the small size.

Pentax Optio M40 8MP Digital Camera
Thank you for the speedy service. I am enjoying my new camera.
I checked different locations for prices. Your company was by far the
best place to do business. Again thank you and I hope we can do business
in the future.

Pentax Optio M40; a great performer
Great "carryability". It can be carried in a small pocket and has the versatility of a larger camera...you're not an "Instant Tourist". It can be used for good effect under most conditions and easily downloads using
the provided software. Nicely finished.

It's ALL about LIGHT!
Whats not to love about light. You can do anything go anywhere at anyyyy....time you like.Yes I do love my Omni-Bounce and my AF540.The only problem I could talk about is that we "all" need to LOOK close at the "WHOLE ORDER"this shipping and handling thing can be costly I paid more to have my Omni-Bounce sent then my 540-FGZ.It was a good deal on my Omni-Bounce until it was shiped. All in all I'm still happy with the way it all went. And after ALL isnt that what its ALL about.......Being happy with our purchase.Pentax AF 540 FGZ Auto Flash Electronic Flash Unit plus Accessory Bundle.THANK YOU.
